Valley of Flowers National Park is one of the best national park, which is located in North Chamoli and Pithoragarh, in the state of Uttarakhand. The Valley of Flowers is truly a paradise. Famous for its exotic flora and fauna, It is also home to some precious herbs. A little far from the Valley of Flowers is the Hemkund Shahib. It is one of the most honored Sikh Shrines in Uttarakhand and the best places to visit near Valley of Flowers. It is highest Gurudwara in the world where the tenthguru of Sikhs, Guru Govind Singh, mediated by the serene banks of Hemkund lake in one of his earlier births.
GEOGRAPHY–
Uttarakhand has a highly varied topography, with snow-covered peaks, glaciers, deep canyons, roaring streams, beautiful lakes, and a few patches of dusty plains in the south. Some of the highest mountains in the world are found in Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand is also known for the composed Himalayas, holy rivers, spiritual centers, and spellbinding landscapes adventure sports, an enrapturing variety of flora and fauna, a charming history recorded in antiquated stones and the most modest people.
CULTURE–
Uttarakhand is known for its beautiful Garhwali and Kumauni culture. The various traditions, religions, fairs, festivals, folk dances, music are what distinctly separate them. Garhwali followed by Rajputs who are believed to belong to Aryan origin, Brahmins who migrated after the Rajputs or later, tribals of Garhwal who stay in the Northern tracts and comprise of Jaunsaris, Jadhs, Marchas and Van Gujars. Kumaon is also rich in its folk literature which comprises myths, heroes, heroines, bravery, Gods, Goddesses and the characters drawn from Ramayana and Mahabharata.
BEST TIME TO VISIT VALLEY OF FLOWERS-
The valley is open for only 3 months, right from July to September, and if you are lucky it will be open in October as well. If you want to see the flowers bloom, then make sure you visit during the month of July & August.
By Road: It is well linked to Delhi, Haridwar, Rishikesh and Rudraprayag by roads.
By Train: The nearest railway station to the National park is Rishikesh. So, you can board a train for Rishikesh. The picturesque national park is nearly 300km north side to it. Roadways- The closest roadway to the valley of flowers is by Govind Ghat.
By Flight: Dehradun airport is the Jolly Grant Airport, Air India, Indigo, Air vistara, Go air and Spice Jet have regular flights to Dehradun. You can hire a taxi from the airport to reach the city, which should take you 40 to 45 minutes depending upon traffic.

Itinerary
DAY 01: DEHRADUN AIRPORT TO HARIDWAR (APPROX 50KM/1HRS)
Arrive Dehradun Airport at As early as possible complete airport formalities and proceed to Haridwar by arranged vehicle. On arrival check in to hotel. Evening enjoy ganga aarati at ghat. Overnight stay at Haridwar. Haridwar: Haridwar, lying at the feet of Shiva’s hills, i.e., Shivaliks, in the Haridwar district of Uttaranchal Pradesh, is a doorway. Suryavanshi prince Bhagirath performed penance here to salvage the souls of his ancestors who had perished due to the curse of sage Kapila. The penance was answered and the river Ganga trickled forth forms Lord Shiva’s locks and its bountiful water revived the sixty thousand sons of king Sagara. In the traditional of Bhagirath, devout Hindus stand in the sacred waters here, praying for salvation of their departed elder. It is doorway to the sources of the Ganga and the Yamuna, 3000 to 4500 meters up into the snowy ranges of the central Himalayas. The ‘Aarti’ worship of the Ganga after sunset and the floating ‘Dia’ (lamp) is a moving ritual.

DAY 02: HARIDWAR TO JOSHIMATH. (APPROX 270 KMS/8 HRS)
After breakfast proceed towards JOSHIMATH. On arrival check in to hotel JOSHIMATH provides delightful views of the snow-clad mountains and green hills all around.

DAY 03: JOSHIMATH TO GOVINDGHAT (APPROX 20 KMS/01 HRS) GOVINDGHAT TO GHANGARIYA (TREK 14 KMS/05HRS)
After breakfast proceed to Govindghat. On arrival start to trek towards Ghangharia. After 5hrs trek we reach at Ghangaria. Overnight stay at Ghangaria. Govindghat: is the confluence of Alaknanda and Laxman Ganga Rivers. It has an imposing Gurudwara named after Guru Govind Singh. Ghangharia: is the base camp for trek to Valley of Flowers where lodging and boarding facilities are available.

DAY 04: GHANGARIYA TO VALLEY OF FLOWER & BACK (RETURN TREK 10 KMS.)
After breakfast with pack lunch we start dream trek. Valley of Flowers in a conical shape with the river Pushpawati flowing through it. Its 08 km one way trek finally we reach mesmerizing Valley of Flowers. This valley declared as a National park and also it declared by UNISCO as world heritage site in 1988. Enjoy marvelous view of Fullon ki ghati- lots of colourful spices of flowers which is too awesome view, collect all Beautiful memories with photo stop. and Return back to Ghangharia for halt.

DAY 05: GHANGARIYA TO HEMKUND & BACK (RETURN TREK 12 KMS.)
After a Delicious breakfast we proceed to Hemkund Sahib Trek. On arrival Hemkund sahib Gurudwara Get Darshan. Devotee feels blessed in the serene environment with divine vibrations. Also visit holy lake DAY 05: GHANGARIYA TO HEMKUND & BACK (RETURN TREK 12 KMS.)hemkund- Its crystal-clear water reflects the Saptashrungi Peaks that encircle it. Return Ghangariya for Overnight stay. DAY 06: GHANGARIYA TO GOVINDGHAT (TREK 14 KMS.) GOVINDGHAT TO AULI
After breakfast start trek towards Govindghat and then drive to Auli. Upon arrival in Auli check in at Hotel. Afternoon explore Auli Bugyal. Overnight stay at the hotel. Auli: Adiguru Shankaracharya on his visit to Uttarakhand had founded Joshimath which is 47 kms from Badrinath and this snow-covered mountainous region is well known for its winter sports, especially skiing. The 3rd most famed skiing spot in the India is Auli which is just 12 kms away from Joshimath. There are dozens of areas for trekking where tourists can take a walk and the landscape is amazing.

DAY 07: AULI – RISHIKESH (260 KMS/7-8HRS) HT: 372MTS.
Morning drive to Rishikesh on the way visit to Nandprayag, Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag and Devprayag. On arrival at Rishikesh refresh and ready to attend Ganga Aarti. overnight stay at Rishikesh. Included Meals: Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner
DAY 08: RISHIKESH TO DEHRADUN AIRPORT DROP. (47 KMS/1HRS)
After breakfast Visit Laxman Jhula, Triveni Ghat, Geeta Bhavan, Bharat Mandir, Vashishtha Bhawan and Parmarth Niketan. Transfer to Dehradun airport. & Fly back. Tour ends with sweet memories.
